Christopher P. McGuire, Esq.
was admitted to the New York
State Bar in 1995. He is a
graduate of St. John’s Law
School, and Cortland
College, where he received
his B.A. degree in political
science and graduated with
Magna Cum Laude honors.
In 1987, Mr. McGuire spent a
semester studying and
teaching in Beijing, China,
and became semi-fluent in
Mandarin Chinese. In
addition, he was a Junior
Writer Editor for the U.S.
Department of State, and
assisted then Assistant
Secretary of State Charles
Redman during the Reagan/
Gorbachev summit.
Mr. McGuire worked as a
Congressional Aide and
Political Consultant to
Congressman Thomas J. Downey
from 1989 until 1992, and
coordinated all of Mr.
Downey’s Congressional and
campaign events during that
time. In addition, he
assisted small businesses
and addressed constituent
concerns for Mr. Downey, and
organized campaign
activities and devised
campaign strategies.
From 1996 through 2000, he
served as Patchogue Village
Prosecutor, where he
prosecuted all Village Code
Violations for the
Incorporated Village of
Patchogue. In addition, his
work included training code
enforcement officers on the
preparation of accusatory
instruments, motion
practice, trials, and
appellate work.
From 1995 until date, Mr.
McGuire has been operating a
law practice in Central
Islip, New York, focusing on
criminal and traffic
matters. The firm also
handles personal injury
claims, real estate
transactions,
landlord/tenant disputes,
and other general practice
areas.
Mr. McGuire has served as
the Patchogue
Village Judge since 2002.
He resides in Patchogue with
his wife Elisabeth and their
son John.
